Bundy is a Long Beach, California indie / post-punk band built on a killer dichotomy — pop hooks laid over dark subject matter, all held together by wiry, danceable rhythm. The band pairs floating, David Byrne‑esque vocal lines with melodic breaks pulled from the same playbook as Built to Spill and Pinback.
The name is a nod to Bud Bundy of Married… with Children, a way of keeping things from getting too self‑serious. As frontperson Nani Serna put it, “Everything serious just sounded like we were too much up our own asses.”
Since forming, Bundy has built a local following through a run of EPs and singles, a set at Buskerfest, and a standing residency at Long Beach’s 4th St. Vine. Along the way the band brought in a horn section and additional players to round out their debut full‑length, Bastard Performer.
“Bundy’s killer dichotomy stirs the Long Beach indie rock scene.”
